Kirby Partners Takes ParityPledge to support diversity

We are proud to announce that as part of our efforts to support diversity in leadership, we have signed the ParityPledge® in support of people of color and in support of women. This is our public commitment to interview at least one qualified person of color and at least one qualified woman for every open role, VP and above.

“At Kirby Partners, we believe that diverse teams make strong teams. By having team members with different backgrounds, organizations can leverage increased intellectual potential, innovate more effectively, and drive superior results,” said Bryan Kirby, Vice President of Kirby Partners.

Judy Kirby, President of Kirby Partners added, “Never has there been a better time to do what is logical, what is fair, and what is right. We need to stop surrounding ourselves exclusively with people who think like we do or look like we do. We need to open our hearts and minds and do what will make us better, both individually and as organizations.”

Kirby Partners is committed to not only supporting diversity and inclusion within our own organization but also helping our executive search clients build diverse teams.

“We are so pleased to have Kirby Partners join us in this important commitment to underrepresented groups. It’s clear that we can, and must, do more to increase pathways for women and all communities of color,” said Cathrin Stickney, Parity.org founder, and CEO.

“I hope that by bringing this simple pledge to the forefront, more companies will be open to changing how they recruit and hire underrepresented executives because we need women and people of color at the table and in decision-making roles.”

Diversity in leadership has many benefits: companies that have more racial and ethnic diversity are more innovative and 35% more likely to have financial returns above the industry median. In the United States, there is a linear relationship between gender and racial diversity in leadership and better financial performance. Yet women and people of color experience more microaggressions, lower pay, discrimination, and fewer opportunities for advancement than their white counterparts, and are represented at much lower numbers in leadership than white men.

We know we won’t get there overnight, but we are committed to increasing representation of women and people of color in leadership, and to being a company that empowers and supports all of our employees and healthcare partners. It’s clear that women and people of color face many barriers in the workplace, but we want to ensure that our doors are open and everyone has a seat at the table.
