Director, IT Planning Services Job Overview

With the incredible growth of Moffitt Cancer Center, and the new strategic plan, Impact 2028, Moffitt leadership is investing heavily in the Information Technology division to rapidly accelerate maturity and position the organization for the future. Moffitt’s strategic plan is heavily dependent on information technology; one of three pillars is the Digital Care/Discovery Accelerator led by the new Chief Digital Innovation Officer. In addition to the data organization under the direction of the Chief Data Officer, the CDIO also has responsibility for digital innovation, and the Information Technology organization under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer. IT is a core enabler to the digital strategy and will participate in the design, development and implementation of the digital plan. In order to ensure the core functions of IT are positioned to support a rapidly growing organization and achieve the ambitions of the strategic plan, Moffitt is investing nearly $10 million dollars and recruiting over 90 new team members in IT demonstrating the organization’s commitment to technology excellence. The IT department needs a solid foundation, ensuring the right resources, processes and technologies are in place driving maturity and building strong business partnership across the organization. This high-profile position serves as an important advisor to the Cancer Center’s leadership team and will contribute to the formation and execution of the Moffitt technology vision. The Director of IT Planning Services leads all aspects of IT portfolio management, IT planning and capital, IT strategic plan, IT capacity and demand, and IT governance. This director will drive the development of the IT strategic plan, working closely with IT senior leadership and the Strategy Office to define multi-year technology and organizational strategies and communicate across all business areas.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 8+ years of related experience (i.e. IT portfolio management, IT governance, strategic plan development, IT capacity & demand)
• 8+ years in progressively responsible technology roles within the healthcare industry
• 5+ years of leadership experience

Preferred:

• Master's degree
• 3+ years of healthcare IT management experience
• 3+ years of related experience in an academic, research, or Cancer Center environment
