Position Overview
Landmark Credit Union is seeking a strategic, innovative, and highly collaborative Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the organization’s technology, data and analytics, artificial intelligence, and enterprise delivery capabilities during an exciting period of growth and transformation. Reporting to the President & CEO and serving as a member of the executive leadership team, the CIO will play a critical role in translating Landmark’s business strategy into an integrated technology and digital strategy that supports growth, strengthens operational effectiveness, enhances member and associate experiences, and maintains the organization’s strong risk and compliance posture. The CIO will oversee a team of approximately 75 professionals, complemented by a flexible workforce and strategic technology partners.
Landmark is approaching $10 billion in assets and has an ambitious three-year vision that includes reaching $12 billion in assets by 2028, expanding beyond Wisconsin, increasing member growth and retention through digital banking, growing business lending, and improving operational effectiveness through process improvement, controls, automation, data, cloud technology, and artificial intelligence. The CIO will be instrumental in enabling this growth thoughtfully and responsibly. This leader will ensure Landmark has the technology foundation, data capabilities, delivery discipline, and organizational capacity necessary to scale, embracing innovation and moving with urgency while never compromising safety, security, resilience, or regulatory obligations.
Beyond technology strategy and operations, the CIO will serve as a true business partner and thought leader across Landmark. The ideal candidate will bring strong business acumen, executive presence, and the confidence to offer a point of view while remaining humble, collaborative, and focused on achieving the right outcome rather than simply being right. This leader will help evolve enterprise governance and prioritization, strengthen collaboration across the technology organization, and build a culture of mentorship, empowerment, accountability, and continuous improvement. With significant opportunities ahead including cloud migration, modernization of lending platforms, M&A integration, back-office automation, responsible AI adoption, and continued digital transformation, the CIO will have the opportunity to shape both the technology organization and Landmark’s broader evolution as the institution grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise strategy and business partnership. Develop and execute integrated technology, data, analytics, AI, and delivery strategies and multi-year roadmaps aligned with Landmark’s growth, operational priorities, and member and associate experience.

Balance strategic, regulatory, risk, maintenance, and innovation needs and recommend when investments should move forward, change direction, or stop.
- Delivery discipline and change readiness. Ensure major initiatives have clear business ownership, requirements, testing and implementation readiness, cross-functional risk and dependency management, organizational change support, and post-implementation measurement.
- Cybersecurity, resilience, and regulatory readiness. Partner with Information Security, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Internal Audit to manage technology, privacy, third-party, continuity, disaster-recovery, and regulatory risks; maintain a strong control environment; prepare for examinations and audits; and drive remediation of identified issues.
- Data, analytics, and AI. Lead enterprise data strategy, governance, quality, architecture, integration, security, access, analytics, business intelligence, and responsible AI. Establish appropriate AI oversight and controls while expanding trusted data and practical AI capabilities that improve decision-making, member value, associate effectiveness, and operational performance.
- Digital transformation and innovation. Partner across the organization to modernize member and associate experiences, simplify processes, automate work, and evaluate and scale emerging technologies based on demonstrated value.
- Financial, vendor, and performance management. Oversee technology budgets, forecasts, investment cases, strategic vendors, contracts, service levels, concentration risk, total cost of ownership, and key performance and risk measures. Provide clear reporting and recommendations to executive leadership, the Technology Committee, and Board.
- Leadership and talent. Build an effective operating model across IT, Data and Analytics, AI, and Delivery Management; attract and develop strong leaders and specialists; clarify accountability and decision rights; and foster collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and service to Landmark’s members and associates.
