Director of Technical Services Position Overview

Methodist Le Bonheur has invested heavily in technology and is in the process of a network modernization project. The modernization project includes an upgrade to CISCO for both wireless and wired infrastructure. The Director of Technical Services will oversee the network, data center operations and telecommunication systems. The Director oversees three managers and total team of approximately 35 FTEs. This position will provide leadership over architectural design, network performance, data center or infrastructure hardware, computer and network management system software, telecommunications, application development environment and related programs.

Qualifications:
  • BS Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or technical degree required.
  • Eight or more years of progressive professional technical experience in a large, multi-hospital healthcare information technology environment and data center, server, network, VoIP, and security technologies.
  • Five or more years supervising technical staff, technical project management and data center operations supervisory experience.
  • MS Computer Science, Management Information Systems, MBA or related technical area are preferred.
  • Technical certifications include any of the following are preferred: Cisco Certified Network Professional; Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer; Nortel Networks Certified Network Architect; Six Sigma, ITIL, and COBIT.

Director, Integrated Clinical IT Services Position Highlights

The Director of Integrated Clinical IT Services will provide leadership, clinical and technical expertise for the acute care clinical services supporting the integrated electronic medical record. The Director will work closely with the organization’s nursing and clinical leadership, medical staff and operational leadership to identify system requirements and establish priorities that drive the development of the clinical/nursing information systems implementation and optimization. Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of current clinical systems and planning for future system modification to meet changing needs of patients, care providers and the organization.

Position Highlights

The Director of Technical Services is responsible for overall operations of computing and communications (voice and data) technology functions throughout all Asante entities. Responsibilities also include the proactive assessment of systems infrastructure requirements and the development and maintenance of the necessary infrastructure. Specific areas of responsibility include: Network Services, Telecommunications, Operations, Help Desk, Desktop and Field Support, Clinical Engineering and Information Security. The Director plays a leadership role in the development of the organization’s strategic information technology plans for the enterprise. Directs a customer-oriented team of professionals who are responsible for providing a responsive and efficient image of Asante Health System.
